Biting Cold by Chloe Neill

Chicagoland Vampires #6

Turned into a vampire against her will, twenty-eight-year-old Merit found her way into the dark circle of Chicago’s vampire underground, where she learned there was more to supernaturals than met the eye—and more supernaturals than the public ever imagined. And not all the secrets she learned were for sharing—among humans or inhumans. Now Merit is on the hunt, charging across the stark American Midwest, tailing a rogue supernatural intent on stealing an ancient artifact that could unleash catastrophic evil on the world. But Merit is also the prey. An enemy of Chicagoland is hunting her, and he’ll stop at nothing to get the book for himself. No mercy allowed.
No rules apply. No lives spared. The race is on.

My Rating:

Now I hate to spoil anything but I can’t review this book without talking about things that are spoilers for previous books in the series – so be warned there are a few spoilers in this review for the previous Chicagoland Vampires books, specifically Drink Deep (#5)!
I series love this series and Biting Cold totally reminded me why!  This book is a great read – action packed and fast paced the whole way through.  I read this in a matter of hours, I couldn’t put it down!
I love Merit, absolutely LOVE her!!  I am so happy Ethan is back and isn’t a freaking familiar!  I can’t believe Mallory… seriously!!  Now Biting Cold picks up where Drink Deep leaves us – Ethan is back… and he and Merit are on the road, but something is up with Ethan.  It’s so weird and I’ll leave you to read to figure out what is going on, but WOW!  I wish this book would have been longer so we know what is going on with everyone, but I understand and still love this book.
Like always this book ends on a note that makes me want the next book NOW!  I love the last line in this book…  it’s so good!  It sums it all up great and I can’t wait to get my hands on House Rules!!  I pre-ordered my paperback already!!  See I’m serious here – I have this series in paperback (I also have several in Kindle format) – LOL!
I totally recommend this for you to read!  I love love love love love love (did I mention love) this series!!
